Overwhelm. The Inner Critic. Bad habits. Fear. Procrastination. Imposter syndrome.
As heart-centered solopreneurs, side hustlers and/or creative types, we face these factors every.single.day.
Below are the 7 MindSets that will help you go from Stuck to SuperStar!
1. Ikigai
Ikigai is a Japanese concept that means ‘a reason for being’. It is the intersection of ‘what you love’, ‘what you’re good at’, ‘what the world needs’, and ‘what you can get paid for’. Find and act on your ikigai and you’ll live a life of happiness, fulfillment and prosperity.
2. The Why
If you don’t know the ‘why’ behind your biz, you’ll never be fully fueled with the love and passion in your heart. Ask yourself why you’re doing the business that you’re doing. When you’re aligned with your deep truth, you’re typically inspired by something in your past (My third grade tutor helped me learn to read so I want to be a tutor!), or you want your work to help others get through a tough situation that you dealt with yourself (I’m a naturopath because I got really sick as a kid and all of the MDs were kind of clueless).
3. Comfort Zone
The comfort zone is safe. That’s why we like it. The problem is that when you’re comfortable you’re not growing. Not on your edge. Take small steps out of your comfort zone and stay there. It’ll be uncomfortable for awhile. Then the comfort zone will expand to meet you. Your world, your life and your possibilities will become bigger.
4. Inner Critic
The inner critic (or Ic) lives in everyone. But here’s the secret… although the Ic looks like a foe, it’s actually your friend. Deep dive to understand the value that it’s trying to give you.
5. Habits
We’re mostly a bunch of habits running around— the semi-conscious actions that rule our lives. To really bust a move as a solopreneur (and a human!) we need to consciously re-program our habits. Take a hard look at your automatic behaviors. Create new actions and do them 30 days in a row. Science says your brain will be re-programmed with new and better habits!
6. Fail Fast
There’s actually no such things as failure. As long as you ask questions and squeeze all of the juice out of your experiences, the ‘failure’ simply becomes feedback. This is a huge. When you have the courage to fail, you’re on the road to success. Don’t wait around. Fail fast.
7. Time Travel
The time/ space continuum is not as solid as it appears. Vision your ideal future— what you want your days to look like, who you want to interact with, how much money you want to make. When you’ve got a clear picture in your head, drop it down to your heart. Feel it. Your emotion fuels your action. This is key.
Take a few minutes right now to write about these ideas. How can they help you? Which ones are the most critical for you? How could these new mindset tweaks literally change your business (and your life)?
